Learn to play an instrument, learn to play a song on it, hang out with bandmates and best of all, play in a band!
Beginner Band is open to all, whether students have little to no experience. There is an instrument for every level including drums, shakers, keyboards, cahon, guitar, bass, ukulele and vocals. Students can make use of the skills they already have and bring their own gear or pick one of our in-house instruments and we will teach them how to play it.
After a drink and a snack students will spend some time warming up with games. They'll learn a new song every week and shown how to play their chosen instrument, or how to sing! Students will be separated into groups to learn their parts. Every week we will perform a song for families.
It's a great opportunity for the kids to experience what it's like playing an instrument in a band. We aim to create positive experiences, fostering the enjoyment of learning and playing music.

This Band Program gives Intermediate students the opportunity to experience what it means to work as a musician in a professional environment.
Participants work on a repertoire and practice as a band, following instructions from the tutors and understanding how to behave and function as proactive band members.
This means they will practice how to count in, work on dynamics, sound tight as an ensemble, and prepare to perform at the end of each Term.
We provide a set-list so students can start working on these songs on their own or with their current tutors. Our aim is to showcase and let the participants experience how to work and behave in a work setting (rehearsing and workshopping arrangements for the songs).
We will be explaining some Theory and concepts such as:
· Dynamics
· Respect and inclusion
· Following directions
· Subdivisions
· Chords progressions.
· Transposition
· Harmony
· Singing
· Counting in
· Band roles and tasks.
· Having fun and engaging with others!

We highly encourage the participants to get familiar with the repertoire, as in a professional scenario, musicians will be asked to learn songs and be prepared way before the first rehearsal – a good work ethic!
