A vibrant introduction to the world of music for children aged 5-7 years. Students grow in confidence through rhythm games, group singing, and creative play in a social class setting. These sessions prepare children for future instrument study by nurturing their inner musicality and love of expression while introducing music theory.

Our Explore program is specially designed for young children who are not quite ready for private lessons but are more than ready to discover their musical voice. At this age, building a strong foundation through joyful, group-based experiences is key — and that’s exactly what we do.


In these engaging classes, your child will:

  • Grow in confidence as they express themselves through sound and movement
  • Begin to understand musical structure by exploring the difference between rhythm and beat
  • Learn to keep the beat through interactive games and ensemble play
  • Create and compose simple pieces with their classmates — learning collaboration and creativity in action



These early years are critical in shaping a lifelong connection to music. Explore is more than just a music class — it’s a space where children feel safe to try, experiment, and shine.

To support busy families, we offer free school pickup on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for North Perth Primary students attending our after-school programs.

With a hands-on approach, we build on your child’s natural feeling for rhythm, melody and harmony as we start introducing them to instruments and musical genres. 


Children are encouraged to engage with music using a variety of instruments and methods, including their voices!

 

We have found through many years of experience that students who learn the foundations of music in a group environment have more confidence to go forward in their learning, and are more likely to be team players. 


After all, that's what musicians do — they play together! 

 

This course is not instrument-specific, although we do expose students to different instruments and give them the opportunity to play different notes and melodies across different instruments.
