Our Music Exploration program creates positive experiences to foster the enjoyment of learning and playing music. It's a great place to start learning music!
​
We start by exploring and experiencing.
With a hands on approach, we lay the foundations of music: rhythm, melody and harmony.
Students are encouraged to engage with music, using a variety of instruments and methods including their voices!
We have found through many years of experience that students who learn the foundations of music in a group have more confidence to go forward in their learning, and are more likely to be team players.
After all, thats what musicians do, they play together!
This course is not instrument specific, although we do expose students to the instruments. Students learn about note values, subdivisions, counting, rhythm, dictation, C major scale, using aural exercises, played by the teachers, or using videos, by playing an instrument.

This program is specifically designed for younger children who are not yet ready for private instrumental lessons.

We continue to explore music by experiencing music using genres such as rock, pop, reggae, Latin, or African beats!
​
We play songs together using the skills we are learning, and although this course is still not instrument specific, we do expose students to the instruments. This can help children explore and decide where their interests lay, whether it be singing, guitar, piano or percussion.
Students continue to learn about note values, subdivisions, counting, rhythm, dictation, C major scale, using aural exercises, played by the teachers, or using videos, by playing an instrument.

We learn how music is created.

This program is designed for children who are not yet ready for private instrumental lessons, or to compliment their instrumental lessons.

MUSIC EXPLORATION 1.0 FOR ADULTS

Wednesdays at 7pm-8pm
Term 1 starts 1st February

Do you love music and feel you'd be good at it, but don't know where to start?
In this course you'll learn the basics of music theory and have the opportunity to try out different instruments or to sing.
We'll explain note values, subdivisions, counting, rhythm, dictation, C major scale, using aural exercises, or by playing an instrument. We'll also give you the tools and advice for easy home practice.
Our teachers are professional, working musicians with heaps of experience and exceptional talent. Each have their own unique backgrounds and music experience and tips to share with you.
You'll be inspired and supported in your journey as you explore music by experiencing music using genres such as rock, pop, reggae, Latin, or African beats!
